::book:worm::

So today was a pretty uneventful quiet day...it was incredibly sunny though - which was nice. :) The rest of the week is supposed to be either snowy or rainy. I am totally cool with that though. Today the bf and I went to the gym - did 30 minutes of cardio and then 30 minutes of weight-lifting - I LOVE the weight room!
But yea, other then that, a quiet week ahead...the long weekend is coming up and it's going to be a busy one with the bf doing some things around the house and maybe we will go out for dinner and a movie or something.
But it's only Monday...so there is still some time to plan things.
Anyways - enough of my random rambling...I am going to show you some books that are on my wishlist and am seriously coveting. I am quite the speed reader and have read most of the books that I recently got. But anyways...I like sharing some of the books that I want to get with you guys...I love it when there are other blogs that suggest books as well, I mean, you can find some real gems.
So here we go...
If you guys have read any of these then let me know what you thought of them!

Dr. Shapiro's Picture Perfect Weight Loss - by Dr. Howard M. Shapiro.
I have been hearing about this book the last little while and am quite interested in it...it is sort of like the "pick this and not that" books...as you can tell by the cover of the book Dr. Shapiro shows you alternatives to some of the things you're eating.
Like the bagel...eat that bagel...OR, eat all that fruit and pudding and soup and such and you're going to be at the same calorie count PLUS you will feel fuller longer and not hungry an hour after that bagel with cream cheese.
The book is filled with pictures and tips and I am so interested in checking it out and seeing all the different alternatives.
{You can find the book on Amazon's site for $11.55.}

Everyday Food Light - From the Kitchens of Martha Stewart Living by Martha Stewart Living Magazine.
I have been waiting for this book for forever! I absolutely love the EverydayFood mini-magazine you can get at stores monthly - it is chock-full of great recipes so I am super excited about this book. Not only that but it is a "light" edition which means a lot of healthy recipes! I mean, look at that burger...it looks way healthier {and more delicious} then one you can get at McDonalds! For serious. I am excited to get my hands on this book and try the delicious recipes in there. :)
{Amazon CA - $16.49.}

When Things Fall Apart - Heart Advice for Difficult Times by Pema Chodron.
I have been hearing a lot of great things about the author of this book - she has a tun of books and is also a notable American figure in Tibetan Buddhism. I am becoming more and more interested in Buddhism {I am going to begin reading more about it as well as meditation} and so many people have recommended Pema's work.
The reason why I want to read this book? I am interested in what she has to say and how Buddhism can help in your day to day life...not only that, but sometimes you will have to go through really tough times in life and I'd like to be prepared for it {who wouldn't}.
So I am eager to read this book, for sure.
{Amazon CA - $15.80.}

Switch - How to Change Things When Change is Hard by Chip Heath & Dan Heath.
Here is another book I am really interested in reading...
I have a problem with change...I am sort of afraid of it and sometimes the thought of it fills me with anxiety so I would like to read what these guys have to say about change and ways to cope with it and whatnot. There have been great reviews on this book so I am sure I won't be disappointed.
{Amazon CA - $16.61.}

A Writer's Workbook by Caroline Sharp
This book has been on my wishlist for a long time...in the beginning though I just thought that I didn't really have "writers block" but the past week or so I am beginning to think that I actually really might! So I have heard that this book helps with the block...lots of exercises throughout the book to help you along your way. I'm looking forward to doing them and getting passed my mini writers block!
{Amazon CA - $12.24.}

The Looneyspoons Collection by Janet & Greta Podleski.
Power to my Polish people!!!
Okay, so you have by now figured out that I have an unhealthy obsession with cookbooks and this is no exception. This is a new book by Janet and Greta and I NEED THIS BOOK IN MY COOKBOOK COLLECTION!!!
I do love cookbooks and love cookbooks even more when they are by some of my favourite chefs on the Food Network. To be honest though, in the beginning I didn't really watch "Eat Shrink and Be Merry" too often but it totally grew on me and love the show now. The boyfriend even has a crush on these ladies.
The even better thing about this book as well is that there are a TUN of nutrition tips in here too since {I believe} Janet is a nutritionist. I would love to be a nutritionist one day! :)
So this is a great book to have for sure! :))
{Amazon CA - $21.91.}

Lynn Crawford's Pitchin' In by Lynn Crawford.
Not going to lie - when I used to watch Lynn on Restaurant Makeover she kind of annoyed me...that is until I saw her on her own show "Pitchin' In" where I realized this lady is super freakin' passionate about GOOD food and is hilarious too. My boyfriend and I definitely became obsessed with Lynn and her show is kick-ass. So it's only normal that I have this book on my wishlist as well. It's her first cookbook and there are some great recipes in there made from simple and delicious ingredients.
I just find her super inviting and who wouldn't want this book in their collection??
I think anyone would be jealous of my cookbook collection. :) Lol.
And my first cookbook that my Mom bought me is what started it all. :))

So there you have it. Some books that are on my wishlist. I love books so much but you all already knew that. These books are also WAY cheaper on Amazon then they are in your local bookstore so I advise you purchase them online...even though I don't want bookstores to go "under" but you can't charge an arm and a leg, I mean, c'mon.
There are also a TUN of books that are coming out this year and am so excited to share them with you guys...a new one by Giada DeLaurentiis which I am super excited about and a cookbook by that lady that wrote the book Under the Tuscan Sun - so that is going to definitely be on my wishlist as well. Stephen King is also coming out with a book and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest in paperback {my Mom told me about it}. So I will keep you all posted with all the new goodies as they come! :))
